Not only are teenagers tasked with learning new things academically and socially, they are also trying to figure out who they are as an individual. Being deaf or hard-of-hearing can make an already challenging experience feel overwhelming.
Most people think that hearing loss is associated with old age, but in fact anybody can have a hearing loss, including teenagers.
The modern world makes things easier in many ways for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, but it also brings its own unique challenges.
